Without the loss of a man
Another photograph taken on 23 March 1945 of the Third Army crossing the Rhine River. The crossing was begun the night before, following an immense rail and road interdiction program by XIX TAC fighter-bombers, which did much to prevent Wehrmacht reinforcements from giving effective opposition to the attack.
