Glenn H. Curtiss in "June Bug,"

Glenn H. Curtiss in "June Bug," the 3rd machine made by the Aerial Experiment Association, organized by Dr. A. G. Bell. First flight June 21, 1908. On July 4th, it won the Scientific American Trophy for first official flight of more than 1 Kilometer in a straight line. The machine flew 2000 yards in 1 minute, 42.5 seconds, Curtiss 8 cyl. aircraft motor.
