We are excited to announce the development of a new digital space dedicated to showcasing the Department of the Air Force's (DAF) official archival records. This project highlights the rich and storied history of both the Air Force and Space Force, featuring historical records, artifacts, photographs, audio recordings, video documentation, and archival finding aids.

Although the page is currently under construction, our team is actively working to ensure it becomes a comprehensive and accessible resource for historians, researchers, veterans, and enthusiasts. We aim to make these valuable materials readily discoverable for those seeking insights into the DAF's contributions to our nation's history.

This initiative underscores our commitment to preserving and sharing the official ephemera of the Airmen and Guardians who have shaped the legacy of the skies and beyond. Updates will follow as the project progresses, and we look forward to unveiling more resources soon!

SAF/AA: A History of the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force
At the Pentagon’s headquarters and at Bolling AFB’s 3 Brookley Avenue Box 94 facility, John J. McLaughlin in September 1947 established correspondence control, contingency-fund administration, and the Top Secret Control Office; John A. Lang reorganized SAF/AA in February 1964 into Management, Administrative Services, and Correspondence branches; Thomas W. Nelson added the Air Force Executive Dining Facility and the Executive Agency Services department in 1971; Robert J. McCormick merged the Directorate of Administration into SAF/AA in August 1980 and stood up the Information and Communications Support Directorate under Maj Gen Richard L. Testa in 2005; Col William A. Davidson led the HAF 2002 integration in 1999, folded HAF/RM finance and HAF/HR manpower under SAF/AA, and brought the Air Force Central Adjudication Facility into the portfolio; and Secretary Deborah Lee James’s appointee Patricia J. Zarodkiewicz in May 2014 created SAF/AAZ for Security, Special Program Oversight and Information Protection while SAF/AAI under James G. Neighbors manages the Air Force Departmental Publishing Office and the Declassification Office.
