Includes photographs taken by MacCartee and news clippings relating to early air activity, primarily at the Signal Corps Aviation School, College Park, MD. Some of the subjects of the annotated photographs include the launching of the Curtiss Hydroplane at War College Point, Washington, DC (1912), the fatal crash of Lt L.C. Rockwell and Lt F.S. Scott (1912) and the use of the Lewis machine gun in aircraft (1916).
