Lineage.  Constituted as 403 Maintenance Squadron, Troop Carrier, Medium on 10 May 1949. Activated in the Reserve on 27 Jun 1949.  Redesignated as 403 Maintenance Squadron on 4 Mar 1950.  Ordered to Active Service on 1 Apr 1951.  Relieved from Active Duty on 15 Nov 1952.  Inactivated on 1 Jan 1953.  Activated in the Reserve on 1 Jan 1953.  Redesignated as 403 Field Maintenance Squadron on 8 Nov 1954.  Inactivated on 14 Apr 1959.  Consolidated (22 Oct 1984) with the 403 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, which was constituted on 5 Dec 1958.  Activated in the Reserve on 14 Apr 1959.  Ordered to Active Service on 28 Oct 1962.  Relieved from Active Duty on 28 Nov 1962.  Discontinued, and inactivated, on 11 Feb 1963.  Activated in the Reserve on 1 Nov 1983.  Redesignated as 403 Maintenance Squadron on 1 Feb 1992.
