Lineage.  Designated as Squadron D, 2 Airdrome Group, on 15 Oct 1947.  Organized on 5 Nov 1947.  Discontinued on 12 Jul 1948.  Consolidated (10 Oct 1984) with the 2 Food Service Squadron, Bombardment, Medium, which was constituted on 28 May 1984.  Activated on 12 Jul 1948.  Redesignated as 2 Food Service Squadron on 16 Mar 1950.  Inactivated on 16 Jun 1952.  Activated on 1 Aug 1959.  Redesignated as 2 Services Squadron on 1 Oct 1965.  Inactivated on 1 Mar 1970.  Activated on 1 Oct 1979.  Redesignated as: 2 Morale, Welfare, Recreation and Services Squadron on 20 Aug 1992; 2 Services Squadron on 1 Jan 1994; 2 Force Support Squadron on 1 May 2008.
