Lineage.  Constituted as 955 Signal Radio Intelligence Company, Aviation, on 23 Jul 1942.  Activated on 1 Aug 1942.  Redesignated as 5 Radio Squadron, Mobile (J) on 29 Feb 1944.   Inactivated on 27 Jan 1946.  Redesignated as:  5 Radio Squadron, Mobile on 14 Nov 1946; 301 Radio Squadron, Mobile, on 19 Mar 1948.  Activated in the Reserve on 15 Jun 1948.  Inactivated on 26 Jul 1949.   Redesignated as 5 Radio Squadron, Mobile, on 2 Nov 1949.  Disbanded on 15 Jun 1983. Reconstituted, and redesignated, as 5 Intelligence Squadron on 3 Sep 2014.  Activated on 26 Sep 2014.
