Lineage.    Constituted as 38 Airdrome Squadron on 25 Jan 1943.  Activated on 1 Feb 1943.  Redesignated as 38 Airdrome Squadron (Special) on 16 Apr 1943.  Disbanded on 1 Apr 1944.   Reconstituted, and redesignated as 38 Operations Support Squadron on 22 Dec 2011.  Activated on 6 Jan 2012.
