Signal Corps Aviation School, 1916 (Aero Club of America Land Plane Pilot Certificate No. 392, January 1916 and Expert Aviator Certificate No. 51, 1916); Air Service Engineering School, 1924; Air Corps Tactical School, 1928; Command and General Staff School, 1929; Army War College, 1936. Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Infantry, February 1908 and served to grade of First Lieutenant, 1908-1916; began duty as Captain with Aviation Section, Signal Corps, May 1916. Career assignments include: Chief of Staff, Air Service, Second Army, 1918; Chief, Engineering Division, Air Service, 1924-1927; Commandant, Air Corps Tactical School, 1931-1935; various staff and command positions, 1935-1944; President, Evaluation Board, HQ USAAF-Mediterranean Theater of Operations, 1944-1945. Retired October 1945. Died in Denver, CO.
Personal and official papers relating to Curry's USAAF career. Includes some correspondence and memoranda pertaining to his early career and his duty in Hawaii (1920-1922) as well as some personal comments on military promotions and morale (1938) and retirements (1954). Also includes some technical bulletins, reports, and test results (1924-1927) relating to aircraft design and characteristics. Contains a copy of one volume of the Evaluation Board, HQ USAAF-Mediterranean Theater of Operations report on the Ploesti raids (1944). Also contains a 1954 article by Curry commenting on the efforts to locate the USAF Academy in Colorado.
