Commissioned Additional Second Lieutenant, Cavalry, June 1914 and served to the grade of Major, 1914-1921; with duty in the Aviation Section, Signal Corps, 1917-1921; Major, Field Artillery, 1921-1927; resumed duty in Air Corps, July 1927. Career assignments include: various duties as field grade officer, 1927-1940; Chief of Staff, Hawaiian Air Force, 1940-1941; Commanding General, Pacific Division, Air Transport Command, 1942-1946. Retired September 1946. Died in Monterey, CA.

Also includes official correspondence on organization, operations, personnel, morale and trans-Pacific air traffic control. Also includes reports and messages on air-sea search following disappearance of General Harmon's plane in the Central Pacific in 1945 and the itinerary for Eleanor Roosevelt's visit to the South Pacific, 1943-1944.
