Lineage:  Constituted as Base Detachment, Godman Field, and activated, on 20 Nov 1940.  Redesignated as:  99 Air Base Squadron on 13 Jan 1942; 99 Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron on 13 Jun 1942.  Disbanded on 16 Apr 1944.  Reconstituted, and redesignated as 99 Mission Support Squadron, on 25 Sep 1995.  Activated on 1 Oct 1995.  Redesignated as 99 Force Support Squadron on 23 Jan 2009.
