Lineage. The 514 Communications Squadron (constituted 514 Communications Squadron, Troop Carrier, Medium, on 10 May 1949; activated in the Reserve on 26 Jun 1949; redesignated 514 Communications Squadron on 10 Mar 1950; ordered to Active Service on 1 May 1951; relieved from Active Duty on 26 Nov 1952; inactivated on 1 Feb 1953; activated in the Reserve on 1 Apr 1953; inactivated on 14 Apr 1949) and the 514 Operations Squadron (constituted on 5 Dec 1958; activated in the Reserve on 14 Apr 1959; discontinued, and inactivated, on 17 Jan 1963) consolidated (1 Feb 1987) with the 514 Information Systems Squadron (constituted 514 Communications Flight on 18 Jan 1976; activated in the Reserve on 1 Jul 1976; redesignated 514 Information Systems Squadron on 10 Apr 1985). Redesignated: 514 Communications Squadron on 1 Feb 1987; 514 Communications Flight on 1 Aug 1992; 514 Communications Squadron on 15 Mar 1995.
