Constituted as 6 Airdrome Squadron on 7 Nov 1942.  Activated on 21 Nov 1942.  Inactivated on 1 Jul 1948.  Disbanded on 8 Oct 1948.  Reconstituted, and consolidated (22 Dec 1993) with the 6 Operations Squadron, which was constituted on 4 Jun 1952.  Activated on 16 Jun 1952.  Inactivated on 8 Aug 1952.  Activated on 8 Aug 1958.  Discontinued, and inactivated, on 1 Jan 1962.  Redesignated as 6 Operations Support Squadron on 22 Dec 1993.  Activated on 4 Jan 1994.
